Onsite Parking and Vehicle Safety at Marymede Catholic College
The safety of our students, staff, and visitors is paramount at Marymede Catholic College. Our campuses are busy environments with high pedestrian traffic, particularly during arrival and dismissal times. All drivers using College car parks must exercise extreme caution and adhere to our parking and vehicle safety protocols.
Speed Limit:
A 10km/hour speed limit applies across all College property at all times. This reduced speed limit is essential for protecting our students and community members, many of whom are young children who may move unpredictably in car park areas.
Reverse Parking:
For safety reasons, we strongly recommend reverse parking when using College car parks. Reversing into parking spaces allows for better visibility when departing, reducing the risk of incidents involving pedestrians, particularly children who may be difficult to see when reversing out of a space.
General Safety Expectations:
- Remain vigilant for pedestrians at all times, especially children
- Observe all directional signage and marked pedestrian crossings
- Avoid using mobile phones while driving on College grounds
- Be patient and courteous, particularly during peak times
- Follow staff directions during drop-off and pick-up periods
Shared Responsibility:
Creating a safe environment requires the cooperation of every driver. By following these protocols and exercising care and attention, we work together to ensure that our car parks remain safe spaces for our entire College community.
Thank you for your commitment to keeping our students and community safe.
