Staff Identification, Keys, and Security
To maintain a secure environment for the Marymede community, all staff must adhere to the following protocols regarding College access and personal property.
1. Obtaining Access Credentials
- Identification Cards: Your staff ID card is essential for daily operations. It is used to operate school gates and provides electronic entry to many College buildings. These can be organized and issued through the IT Helpdesk.
- Physical Keys: Keys for specific classrooms or offices required for your role are obtained directly from the Human Resources Manager.
2. Key and ID Security
The security of our facilities depends on the responsible handling of access tools:
- Strict Confidentiality: Keys must never be lent to students under any circumstances.
- Storage and Safety: Keep keys secure at all times. For security reasons, do not bundle keys with any items that identify the College (such as your ID card or lanyard). If lost, these items should be reported immediately to the HR Manager and IT Helpdesk respectively.
3. Personal Property and Office Safety
While the College strives to provide a safe workspace, security is a shared responsibility:
- Individual Responsibility: All personal items brought onto the premises are at the owner’s risk. The College does not accept responsibility for the loss or damage of personal property.
- Securing Workspaces: Staff are expected to lock their offices when not in use.
- Valuables: Ensure that any valuables are stored out of sight and secured in locked drawers or lockers where available.
