ACE (Activities, Excursions, Camps)

At Marymede Catholic College, our ACE program is a vital extension of the classroom, providing students with transformative real-world learning experiences. To ensure these opportunities are safe, inclusive, and educationally purposeful, all off-campus activities and on-site incursions are governed by a rigorous planning and approval process.

Compliance with these protocols is essential not only for meeting our Duty of Care and MACS legislative requirements but also for ensuring the operational success of the event. By utilizing the EMS360 platform, we maintain a transparent and centralized record of all safety measures and logistical arrangements.

📋 Submission Requirements & Timeline

Effective planning requires a commitment to the “4-week rule.” This lead time allows the College to review safety protocols, finalise staffing, and ensure all students can participate safely.

  • Documentation Hub: All Excursion and Incursion applications must be processed through EMS360 (accessible via SIMON).
  • The 4-Week Deadline: Complete applications must be submitted at least four weeks prior to the intended event date.
  • Essential Documentation: Your submission is not considered complete unless it includes:
    • The fully completed EMS360 Application Form.
    • A comprehensive Risk Assessment (template available on EMS360).
    • Up-to-date Class Lists and medical alerts.
    • All relevant supporting documentation (e.g., itineraries).

🛠️ Professional Responsibility

Organising teachers are responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of their submissions. Proactive planning ensures that we continue to provide high-quality, adventurous learning while upholding the highest standards of student safety and professional culture.
