Emergency Management

Marymede Catholic College maintains a rigorous and proactive approach to Emergency Management to ensure the safety of every student, staff member, and visitor across our campuses. Our program is a year-round commitment to preparedness, designed to transform complex safety procedures into calm, instinctive actions. By participating in regular, term-based drills and annual training, we ensure that our community is equipped to respond effectively to any incident, from localized hazards to broader environmental threats.

Safety is a shared responsibility. While specific roles are assigned, every staff member plays a vital part in our response network. Whether leading a class to an assembly point or acting as a Warden, your familiarity with these protocols is the most critical link in our safety chain.

🛠️ Staff Responsibilities & Wardens

  • Supervising Staff: Your primary duty is the calm and orderly movement (or securing) of the students in your care.
  • Non-Supervising Staff: You are designated as Wardens. Upon an alarm, you must report to Main Reception to receive your deployment orders or assist in clearing common areas.
  • Documentation: Wall posters identifying evacuation routes and assembly areas are mandatory displays in every building. Please ensure these are clearly visible in your workspace.

Further Information: For detailed queries regarding the Emergency Management Plan or your specific role within the Warden team, please contact Adrian Puckering, Deputy Principal – Professional Culture.

We conduct a training session at the beginning of the year, and wall posters identifying evacuation routes and assembly areas are displayed in every building throughout the College.

Staff should familiarise themselves with the various emergency management codes and duties. All staff not actively supervising students are considered to be Wardens in any emergency situation and should respond to any call for warden duty. Please contact Adrian Puckering, Deputy Principal – Professional Culture for more information.
