The Culture Project: Defining Our Agreed Behaviours
Throughout 2025, the staff at Marymede Catholic College embarked on an important and collaborative journey known as The Culture Project. This whole-staff initiative was designed to articulate and define the professional behaviours and practices that underpin our workplace culture and reflect our shared values as a Catholic educational community.
What is The Culture Project?
The Culture Project represents our collective commitment to creating a positive, respectful, and high-performing workplace where every staff member feels valued, supported, and empowered to contribute their best. Through facilitated discussions, reflection, and consultation across both campuses, staff worked together to identify the Agreed Behaviours that define how we work with one another, engage with students and families, and embody our College mission in daily practice.
Our Agreed Behaviours:
These behaviours are not imposed from above but have emerged authentically from our staff community. They represent our shared expectations for professional conduct, collaboration, communication, and mutual respect. The Agreed Behaviours provide clarity about what it means to be part of the Marymede team and serve as a foundation for accountability, growth, and excellence.
Moving Forward:
The Agreed Behaviours will be embedded throughout 2026 into our professional culture and inform everything from everyday interactions to performance expectations, professional learning, and leadership practices. Every staff member is expected to understand, embrace, and demonstrate these behaviours as we work together to achieve our mission of providing exceptional Catholic education.
