First Aid and Medical Care at Marymede Catholic College
The health and wellbeing of our students is a top priority at Marymede Catholic College. Our dedicated First Aid services are staffed by four Registered Nurses, along with trained personnel who provide professional care for students with acute needs and those managing chronic health conditions.
First Aid Office Locations:
- South Morang Campus: Main Administration Building
- Doreen Campus: Main Reception
Primary School First Aid Protocol:
Each Primary teacher is equipped with a First Aid kit to manage minor ailments, including cuts and abrasions. Teachers must carry this kit during Yard Duty. Primary students should not be sent to the First Aid Office for minor issues that can be appropriately managed by staff using the classroom First Aid kit.
Accessing First Aid:
Students requiring First Aid must present a note in their diary from their teacher. Additional First Aid kits are located at Main Reception, the Finance and Founders’ Building Office, and all Primary School classrooms.
Excursion Requirements:
Staff planning any excursion must contact a College Nurse five school days prior to obtain care plans and medication for relevant students.
Medication Administration Policy:
Staff are not permitted to administer any medication—including over-the-counter medications such as Panadol or antihistamines—unless the student has a Medication Authority Form signed by a doctor or registered Health Practitioner.
By following these protocols, we ensure consistent, safe, and professional medical care for all students across our College community.
