Calthorpe Resource Centre

The Calthorpe Resource Centre (RC) serves Prep to Year 12 students and teachers. All members of the school community are welcome to use the space for borrowing, research, reading, and study. The RC includes a designated study area for VCE/Year 12 students. The RC holds a wide range of print resources, including fiction and non-fiction books, periodicals, teacher reference materials, and class sets.

The RC also offers an extensive digital collection accessible to both students and teachers. This includes online magazines and newspapers through PressReader, a wide range of articles and information via EBSCO, as well as access to ClickView, World Book, and Wheelers ePlatform for ebooks and audiobooks. LibGuides are available to support teacher development and student learning, and class-specific LibGuides are developed by teacher librarians and technicians. These are regularly reviewed to align with curriculum changes.

The Resource Centre  subscribes to CiteMaker to support students from Year 5 to Year 12 in developing bibliographic references for research tasks. Teacher librarians use a Guided Inquiry approach when co-designing research tasks with classroom teachers.
