Unplanned Absence Procedures for Non-Teaching Staff

Timely communication regarding absences is essential for the smooth operation of our campuses and to ensure appropriate support is in place. Professional communication during these times allows the College to manage daily organization effectively.


1. Immediate Notification Requirements

In the event of an unplanned absence, all non-teaching staff must provide notification the evening prior or no later than 7:00am on the day of the absence. You are required to contact:

  • The Relevant Director of Campus Organisation: Please send a text message to the appropriate contact:
    • Secondary (South Morang): 0447 150 079
    • Primary (South Morang): 0407 844 810
    • Doreen Campus: 0478 853 408
  • Your Line Manager: Notify them via email, text or phone call.
  • Daily Extras: Email [email protected] if a Leave Form has not yet been submitted.

2. Leave Documentation

All leave must be formally documented to ensure accurate payroll processing and administrative records.

  • Leave Form Submission: An Online Staff Leave Form must be completed either prior to intended leave or immediately following any unplanned absence.
  • Approval Process: Once submitted, the form is electronically forwarded to the Principal for approval before being processed by the Pay Office.
  • Accessing the Form: The link to the Online Staff Leave Form is located on the SIMON home page.
